When a PO Box is a reasonable fit
Consider a PO Box when you can collect mail and want to keep correspondence separate from home delivery. Check the chosen Post Office’s access hours, available sizes and current rental price.
Do not assume all PO Boxes lack a street-address option. USPS offers Street Addressing at participating locations, subject to its terms. That address format does not turn the box into a residential address.
When a virtual mailbox is more useful
If you spend long periods abroad, contents scanning can save you from waiting for an original letter before reading it. Compare opening charges, scan allowances and overseas forwarding. An envelope preview alone may not be enough for a time-sensitive notice.
